Your daily dose of douchebaggery

with 8 comments

Oftentimes (every day) I fill my Twitter account with snippets of douchebaggery that inevitably get buried under more subsequent douchiness. As a result, I fear many of you never get to see a full day’s worth of the stupid, mean, and cruel things the Very Serious People in power say and do during the course of a typical day. Thus, I bring you the Daily Dose of Douchebaggery. This shall be an ongoing thing. Or maybe not. It depends on if you people like it, so let me know.

Robert Gibbs

I know, way to kick things off with a cliche. Everyone has been tearing into Gibbers all day, but he totally deserves it. I’ve already made my contribution earlier, but I want to revisit an important point. Gibb’s main beef with the caricature of Progressives he has created in his little mind is that they will only be satisfied  “when we have Canadian healthcare and we’ve eliminated the Pentagon. That’s not reality.” So basically, the White House mouthpiece is extremely anti-those people who want good healthcare and less war. And then the talking heads will gather around oval tables on the weekend to talk about voter apathy — why won’t the Democrats come out to vote? Durr.

Jim Moran

The Democrats are currently patting themselves on the back for not allowing 161,000 teachers and 158,000 public works employees to lose their jobs. That sounds like great news, except because of the deficit hysteria infecting Washington right now, the Democrats had to promise to pay for the bill up front, and they did that by cutting food stamps. They made this sacrifice because it’s way easier than proposing Pentagon cuts, and risking the wrath of Robert Gibbs. See, the only way Washington is willing to toss teachers life preservers is if they can first kick a poor person in the throat. Thems U. S. of A. rules.

When asked about the provision in the bill that cuts back on food stamp programs as a way to pay for the bill, Moran was a bit more hesitant.

“Well, I mean it’s not going to hurt people,” he explained. (Democrats hope to stave off the cuts before they kick in.) “It’s something that was inevitable. And right now our highest priority has got to [be to] keep these teachers on the job so that there’ll be teachers in the classroom when kids return for school in a month.”

Robert Gibbs: The most honest man in Washington

with 4 comments

Today, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs really let his asshole colors fly when he teed off on the “professional Left,” whoever that is. According to Gibbs, the irrational leftist fringe losers he had in mind are the people who would like affordable healthcare and a smidge less war.

The press secretary dismissed the “professional left” in terms very similar to those used by their opponents on the ideological right, saying, “They will be satisfied when we have Canadian healthcare and we’ve eliminated the Pentagon. That’s not reality.”

Of those who complain that Obama caved to centrists on issues such as healthcare reform, Gibbs said: “They wouldn’t be satisfied if Dennis Kucinich was president.”

And also..

“I hear these people saying he’s like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested,” Gibbs said. “I mean, it’s crazy.”

Thank you. I’m so sick of watching all these nampy pamby lefties – in their damned KUCINICH FOR EMPEROR t-shirts – alternating between sucking their thumbs, chewing mushrooms, and asking the president they helped elect to keep his campaign promises.

Someone define ‘policy’ for the Gibbers

with 11 comments

Press Secretary Robert Gibbs became disoriented today and said a very silly thing. According to Gibbers, Wikileaks is not comparable to the Pentagon Papers because the documents leaked by Daniel Ellsberg dealt with “policy,” while the 90,000+ pages posted on Wikileaks were a series of “one-off documents.” I originally found this story on Politico, which I refuse to link to, but here’s a nice link to The Hill.

Here’s why this is stupid: any documents or records of the atrocities committed by the US in Afghanistan are inherently part of the Bush-Obama Afghanistan “policy.” Even though the last dated document is from December of 2009, a period when Obama was allegedly “reforming” his attitude toward the region, his grand solution for the quagmire was not to leave, but to escalate. If anything, Obama has committed more troops and more treasure to a pointless, destructive, and endless occupation – as demonstrated in the documents posted by Wikileaks. PS: Shit is going awesome. For example, a NATO rocket killed 45 civilians last week. You’re welcome, brown people!
