Funding matters

with 5 comments

There are some early reports emerging that Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ shooter, Jared Lee Loughner, may be schizophrenic (or at the least, extremely disturbed). Too often after a tragedy like this, the media and blogosphere rush to affix the blame on some political agenda. But let’s remember that there is a real need to properly fund state health departments, and in early 2010, Gov. Brewer signed off on a $36 million reduction in funding to the Arizona Department of Health.
